I agree and am fascinated by major vs minor. My guess is that it's related to the intervals involved and how we are wired to find pleasantness in octaves and 5ths and when we depart from those pleasant chord qualities we hear "darker/sadder " chords. Do you have song examples that show minor-ish vs non minor-ish where each contain minor chords?
