Dr. Dan and OM have been working on older Master Recordings of Justanoldmuso, Using several different software's, Dan was able to post a copy that repaired and restored the original soundtrack to some degree and to create a Chord Chart and tempo map and successfully add additional instruments to play along with the original song. It was suggested to the forum in general that members could download a copy of the original song audio file to replicate Dan's accomplishment using BIAB. After downloading the file I opened BIAB and using the STEMS feature and the ACW, I adding an organ, bass and drums to JOAM's instrument track and vocal track. The same as Dan found, there was no useable material on any other track from the original recording. With the tracks separated, I created another version of the song using only the vocal track from the original and the tempo map. I chose a Style from the StylePicker and added a RT solo electric guitar and rendered another version . Both my versions were done solely within BIAB. No external software was used. No repair of the original soundtrack audio file was attempted. BIAB is accompaniment and generation software and lacks the necessary tools to do intricate repairs. OM and Dan have given permission in another thread here on the forum to post my versions. JOAM's "White Corvette"_Two Versions

Cool technical accomplishment and BiaB demo, Charlie. There certainly is a lot under the BiaB hood for those with the interest. Very cool.

Definitely as different as two versions of the same song can be. For those that may have missed the thread Charlie mentions, +++ HERE +++ it is

It sounds cool. both versions have their own unique feel.
It would be interesting to hear the original version as well to establish a baseline of sorts. I looked but didn't see it in the posts about this, maybe I missed it.

Cool, Charlie. Really cool. Thanks for the explanation too. Both versions are fine, but I prefer the "...BIAB" one --the top one. Very different versions. I like the idea of others doing other versions, too.

I'll keep this brief as I'm recuperating from surgery.
Thanks to everyone showing an interest....
FYI the original rough demo of white Corvette done in a studio is on my SoundCloud in my signature White Corvette. Vocals Etc were all one take. Free studio time.. lol.
you guys are fantastic and thanks once again.

I am rested now so I feel like I can comment now. Surgery is very draining.
Regarding Charlie's download on User Showcase:
-I agree that they are different versions of the song. -I preferred the second version of the download because it retains the original motion of the song ie: more rockier. -Please could the bass and drums come in with the crazy intro lead after rhythm starts. -Charlie, I am amazed you got the vocals tuned to the backing instrumentation. How did you do this in BIAB? -Please feel free to disagree with me folks but I feel old songs like this one done on multi track tape are more challenging than songs done in the digital domain. -It would be nice to see a video of your steps Charlie regarding ACW from start. I feel it would be great for us confused users from newbies onward.
Great respect to everyone.

Hi, I read the story about restoring a song and re-recording it in two versions. I listened to them, the quality wasn't great, but I did get a feel for both the BiaB and Dan versions. But then DrDan released another version of the same song! And I listened to that one too.
And then I was at a loss. A big problem. And I'd never heard the original sound of that Corvette song before. Anyway, it was really nice to read how you recovered the stems and brought this song back to life. The BiaB version from 2026 is very good! But aside from the quality, I think the Dan version is the best: a good tempo, good vocals that aren't too dark. Number 2 is DrDan's, although there's something about his pronunciation of the last words of each line that I don't particularly like (personally, of course). BiaB's version is last, but that was partly due to the singing. The singing was a bit dull, as if he were reciting the lyrics. And now what?
But thanks for all you did and wrote about how the song came alive again.
Hans

I need to clarify.
White Corvette - BIAB - this file is Charlies production using BIAB along with OM original vocals. White Corvette - Dan - This file is the original [ OM guitars and vocals] along with BIAB Drums and Bass added by Charlie in BIAB. White Covetter - Dan (2) - This is Dans production using OM original guitars and vocal, along with EZKeys, EZDrums and EZbass. No BIAB.
Does that help?

Hi DrDan, yes it does! Thanks for this. Is my preferred ordering still relevant? Because it doesn't really change. So, it turns out I'm a fan of the original. Nice!

Hey Om, don't jump to that conclusion! I thought the question was which version I liked best. That doesn't mean the other versions were worthless or anything.
I usually listen to a song and the vocals in a way that makes me feel something special. The second version did that a little more than the others. That's all. And beside that, I was impressed how you brought that old original back to life. In BiaB. I've never done that myself.

It sounds much better in your BIAB version. The clarity of everything is great. The vocal sits really well.

Thanks to everyone for listening to the song and commenting on my vocals. I was going for a dark vocal vibe and song.
You have no idea how much I appreciate the help on this song from Charlie and Dan. It seems I get these mental blocks when it comes to using the ACW. I seem to go down a deep rabbit hole lol.
Charlie do you have any objections to me posting the updated song on my SoundCloud account once I've recuperated from my recent op ? Of course your and dans help will be attributed. Both of you are brilliant.
