I thought of Billy Joel's "Baby Grand" song when I wrote this blues song. I don't consider myself a blues singer, but it was fun to write and record. I'm singing and playing guitar and BIAB does the rest. Some people think that all my songs are about me....and I tell them that they're not. Sometimes, I just make them up. But, I think this song is a true representation of how I feel. Music is always with me..........a part of me.

ME AND MY GUITAR, THROUGH GOOD TIMES OR BAD
ALWAYS SEEMS TO GIVE ME PEACE OF MIND
DAY OR NIGHT, RAIN OR SHINE...ALWAYS
I KEEP THAT BABY WITH ME ALL THIS TIME

WHEN I'M FEELING DOWN, I PICK HER UP
KNOWN HER LONGER THAT ALL THE WOMEN I'VE EVER KNOWN
TOGETHER WE'LL WRITE A SONG THAT'S NEVER BEEN
A SONG I CAN CALL MY VERY OWN

ME AND MY GUITAR, WE STAY TOGETHER
LOVED IT SINCE THE FIRST TIME THAT WE MET
FELT GOOD IN MY HANDS, SOUNDED SO GOOD
AS A FRIEND, IT'S AS GOOD AS YOU CAN GET

WE'LL SPEND A LAZY AFTERNOON, AND WHILE AWAY THE TIME
OR REMINISCE ON SONGS I'VE LEARNED ALONG THE WAY
WHEN I PLAY 'EM, IT'S LIKE MAGIC, THEY TAKE ME BACK IN TIME
AND BRING BACK MEMORIES FROM ALL MY YESTERDAYS

FINGERS ON THE FRETBOARD, MUSIC ON MY MIND
WRITING SONGS ABOUT LIVING ALL THESE YEARS
MAYBE FOLKS WILL LIKE 'EM.. I DON'T KNOW
IT DOESN'T MATTER, THEY SOUND GOOD TO MY EARS

SO ME AND MY GUITAR, WANDERING THROUGH THIS LIFE
A LITTLE BEAT UP AND GETTING KIND OF OLD
FRIENDS COME AND GO, THINGS ALWAYS CHANGE
BUT WE STAY TOGETHER GOING DOWN THE ROAD

Hi Sol!
Again, your song touches on something all us musicians think about - we couldn’t imagine life without having our guitar or other instrument close at hand. There’s been many times when going on drive holidays that I wondered if I should take my guitar along. Even once, I took a ukulele so I had an outlet.
The 12/8 feel of the style was good, vocals good, and as usual, you came in with some good BVs as well.
The only thing - I was a little troubled by the title of the next YouTube video that appeared at the end - if I view it, will it misinform my algorithm? 😳

I'm glad you like the song. What I've done is upload all my songs that are done on band in the box to suno. That's because I think they turn out much better than with me doing them. I think the musicians are better. The arrangements are better and the singers are better, so I usually do it first with band in the box and then upload it to suno. But I still have all my songs where i'm singing on youtube , but they're the older youtubes.

Sol, this song is exactly how I feel.
Super vocal and mix but the lyrics took it over the top for me as I can really relate to them.
Loved it.

PS - Do you know why a guitar is better than a woman?
Because a guitar doesn't get mad when you bring home another one!

Ducking and running for cover.

Hi Sol

You’ve really nailed it on how we all feel about the other ladies in our lives.so relatable. To be quite honest, I don’t know what I’d be doing if it weren’t for my highly strung ladies. Holding a golf club doesn’t have the same attachment / connection that cuddling a guitar has. A really good track and style that emphasises our love of this instrument and music in general. A guitar is better than a therapist most of the while.

Well done Sol. Kind regards

Thank you so much. I really enjoyed your descriptive words about the 'ladies'. I'm sure a lot of us feel the same way about our instruments.

Oh, I'm in, Sol. Love this Blues song, and your polished voice fits it perfectly. Cool bridge too. Lush harmony, and the backing band is also perfect. Super guitar too.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thank you. It's really the way I feel. I love all my guitars. And you know what, I still remember where I was the first time I ever strummed a guitar...and I remember how I thought that it sounded soooooo good. I was about in the 5th grade. A nice memory.

Hi, Sol.

In spite of the Billy Joel influence, I'm hearing Willie Nelson - and that's a high compliment!

You sure know how to sing a story! smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Thank you. It kind of sums up the way I feel about the guitar and music.
