We Look Good Together

_RECAL.STY Grungy Soft Rock Groove for beds.

Audacity DAW

I played a textural acoustic on my 1936 Gibson, while singing.

I used compression and reverb only.

One take with lead guitar overdub.

This song's story:

This acoustic guitar based track is kind of a love song!

It happened when me and mine were out shopping for curtains one day. The store was quiet, and after a friendly 10 minute exchange, the clerk turned to us and said "you two look so good together."

Well, that was a pleasant surprise! As we had made it clear that we were just looking, the unsolicited compliment brightened our afternoon.

Later, as we were leaning on the railing at a nearby riverside park, a random guy, upon casual afternoon greetings, said the same thing!

Back at home and hour later, I picked up my guitar, and this is the tune that came out of that afternoon.

It's totally organic, and the production is made of of real human played loops, creating a bed for my live studio vocals and textural acoustic guitar!

Thanks for listening,

Hi Drew!
I like it how you took a real-life experience and turned it into song. I am sure many of us have our songwriting antenna piqued by life events or observations. I think there’s a saying about life imitating art, but also should be art informed by life.

It’s always good to see videos of songwriters performing their work, so thanks for the video! Was that you playing lead guitar?

Oh, that's cool how the song-seed came to you, and it's especially cool how you fed it, nursed it and grew it into this wonderful tribute to your togetherness. Fine vocal too. I like the little Buddy-Holly like hiccups. Really well done, Drew.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thank you, Andrew.

Yes, that is me playing lead guitar. It's not my Forte, but I try to be melodic. smile

Drew, an excellent song about real life experiences.
Super vocal, great rhythm guitar, and a tasty lead guitar.
Great video also.
A super song.

PS - If I were to write a song about what people say about us it would be titled "What the Hell Do You See in Him"? grin

Super song, Drew. Love the live vocal performance. Bet you're a KILLER busker. Nifty solo, too. Nice BiaB backing track that does just enough and doesn't get in the way whatsoever.

A very cool performance. Thanks for sharing.

That was real.

smile

Hi DC Ron.

Thanks for your excellent feedback on my song! I'm excited to have found this Forum. I've used BIAB for since 2017, but I'm the worst at promoting my music.I guess I squirrelled away with my studio for the last while! smile

Hi, Drew.

Nice song - simple and to the point, and well done.

Yep, it's real. laugh
