Wild Ride

Somedays you just got a let loose! A few days ago was one of those days so I just sat down and jammed; I was tired of shoveling snow.

I used the drum track from the Heavy Metal 2 style.
Tempo - 130 BPM
Drums = SSD-5 - Deluxe 1 - Deluxe Rock 19

I am playing my Squire P-Bass, my Xaviere 335 with humbucker pickups, and via my keyboard controller the Arturia B3 organ, preset - Winter Shade.

As always all comments are welcomed.

Well, right after that flight of the butterfly, I was a bit afraid to push play for fear of being so overwhelmed by your ability that I might quit writing.

Man, that bass is so good. Way to get loose on this wild ride. Do you play with a pic? Many of my favorite bassists do, but I can't. Great guitar work too. Always a treat, Mario.

Enjoy whatever happens!

A wild ride indeed! The lead guitar is excellent, but I'd liked to have heard it a little louder.

Right out of the gate, I loved those drums. Guitar was great, too, but I agree with Chay that it could've been louder in the mix. Great job, Mario!

Thanx Marty. My ability should never stop you from writing, or actually even challenge you. Yes, for the first time ever I used a pick on my bass.

Thanx Chay and Bob. Actually I had the lead louder but I thought that it was to loud. Maybe I was wrong about that.

Yeah! Some great playing here, Mario, nice hearing you cut loose!

I can relate with the shoveling snow bit, been a bad winter for snow up this way too.

Wowzer! Spectacular jam, Mario! Great job keeping the musical narrative ALIVE and FUN for the listener. This is all very tight and a delightful way to start the day.

Be careful shoveling snow though! There comes a time when younger hearts and backs are better suited to that stuff. Know that's true for me anyway. smile

Thanx Dave. I think you and I are under the same weather patterns. Not fun at times is it.

Thanx Ron. I am very careful shoveling snow. On the heavy snow and/or a lot of snow I use a snowblower. But for lite snow I shovel.

Dynamic intro. An energetic release, which I hope will melt the snow, but watch out for the overvoltage.

Hi Mario
I listened to Wild Ride the other day, then again today when returning from holidays. That drum part sets the pace - gee, I'd like to play lead and bass half as well as you can.

Cool Jam!
Might be a contender for the shortest one. smile
But with your bass, guitar and organ you packed a lotta good in it.

We enjoyed it ... it begged another listen and we accommodated it.

Hi Mario,
I can imagine you went to bed to rest after making this song. I felt the same urge, just from listening to your "Wild Ride"!
What energy there is in it! The drummer must be recovering in a nursing home by now...

I think it's amazing how you manage to weave all of this into a cohesive whole that also sounds very appealing. You must be a good jammer then. And thankfully, you are! A jack of all trades. Whether it's classical or pop, you always manage to make something captivating.

Great job!
Hans

Thanx Floyd. Sometimes I just have to let lose and just jam. I'm so glad liked this quick and dirty little jam.

Thanx Laurent for listening and commenting on my little jam. No it didn't melt any snow but today's temperature will be 70F (21C) so a lot of snow is already melting.
