Hi All, We were inspired last year by David Snyder’s great song “Eduardo’s Bodega”. David's backstory & original version is here. I told David that we would love to do a cover. This is our version complete with a video that we had a bit of fun with. You’ll see Joliz and me in the doorway of Eduardo’s, and an advertisement poster for David appearing “live” somewhere in town. This one is for you David! Ha! Awesomeness indeed.
Love David's version, but the two of you have really grabbed it, pulled it close and made it your own.
Love everything about this. Just everything.
Watched the excellent video but had to go straight to SoundCloud so I could register my "like" there, too.
Outstanding craftsmanship by all.

Brilliant song by David! And a brilliant performance from you two.
Enjoyed the video, nice seeing you and Joliz in the doorway, and the poster of David up on the wall.

A natural for you to do this one, almost sounds like a BD write. Liked the simple but oh so effective video, and the main vocal was perfect. Great job, Bob!

Very nicely done.
I like to see folks here covering the songs of other folks here.

AH, this is so... amazing, wonderful, and a fine tribute from the song writing machine to the man in the machine. Love this song. You and Joliz are a very talented duo.

Bob,
This is great, man, and you and Joliz are epic, but there is some good news and some bad news.
Good news, this is great.
Bad news, Bruce and Bob just called. Bruce said that because the new depressing movie about him didn't work out as expected, he was hoping his own cover of this song would put him back in the game, since some people didn't like his protest song either, and he was looking for something a little more E-Street Shuffle.
Then Bob called and said that he thought that HE had first dibs on the cover, because the song obviously was a metaphor for his whole career and catalog, and he wanted to cover it first because he hadn't had a hit in thirty years.
It got uglier after that.
I told both of them that I was collaborating with Martin Scorsese on a new film in the works called "The Last Woodstock" which is all about a guy who stands at the intersection of two streets in the West Village and never moves, or changes location, but always seems to write 500 songs a day, and doesn't move because he doesn't have to, and is better than Bruce or the other Bob ever was. And the film was expected to sell out the first weekend it opened.
Everybody is screaming, Bruce is mad, Bob is mad, and now I don't know what to do.
If you could just stop being so great all the time, that would help.
Thanks man. I'll let you call Bruce and Bob and offer to help them out with some of their new tunes.

David,
That was the most EPIC response! LOL! So glad you liked the way it turned out.
It was our pleasure to record this song. You have long been an inspiration to me and others on this forum.
Keep writing that great music!

I find it quite interesting that, even though the lyrics aren't yours (thanks, David), your version immediately bears the stamp of Bob Dean. All over it. I guess you could cover the Barbie Girl song and make it your own. Enjoyed my listen ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/images/icons/default/thumbs_up.gif)

Bob and Joliz come through with a gold metal on David's song. I really like what you did with this. This has that Bob and Joliz's signature sound and it fits David's lyrics perfectly. Great backing band and mix also Loved it

I wrote on the YT post, "More superb musical storytelling!", but I didn't realise it was David's song and that I'd commented on the original. It's excellent songwriting and it sounds inspired by you.
