ok...maybe people will hate this.
sorta minimilist.
(my wife comments at start and end.)
been debating for a year whether to post this,
but what the hey.
dont take it serious.
gonna leave it up on Scloud 2 weeks.

how the song came about.
friend of my wife said to us she was thinking of kicking
to the kerb her latest boyfriend and said to me i should write
a song about it.

voila here is the link.
mixed for earbuds and just a demo idea.
all comments bad or good are welcome.

ps 9 other songs also you can listen to if you wish.

Yeah, that was way out weird. But good to hear from you again. Good thing you explained the inspiration for this, it helped a lot.

Hi Alf/om
This is catchy in a ‘I don’t want it in my head’ kind of way. I am sure I am going to be walking around the house this morning singing ‘Kick him …’. I love the deep sung notes - they really compliment the synth backing.

Related - I read an article recently that said that Gen Z males have more submissive female expectations than do Boomers. It must be all the manosphere stuff. Us Boomer males are the original S.N.A.G.s.

BTW - was any BIAB used in the song? I’m not asking as a BIAB enforcer, but just wanting to know what Style was used. I liked the retro basic feel of it.

thanks for the comments from all you talented pg users.

its a 'girlpower' song...lol.
i thought i would post it as i dont have time for doing new songs just now
because i had a recent minor surgery and the docs told me to lay off my guitar
and songs for a few weeks....sigh...oh well.

pg realtracks and realband used.

purpose of the song was to show to people that pg apps
will do songs in any genre...as people have said to me
they are just for elevator music....which is silly.
in my sig are songs ranging from bluegrass to mor...romantic
and hard rock....which i show to people to hear the capabilities
of rb and bb.

it was done as a 'quickie demo'....
my wife was very shy re her comments...but i felt a womans touch
was needed.

thanks once again.

om, definitely an offbeat little earworm, but very cool. The sparse arrangement works very well, and your vocals are great. Could imagine this being amped up for a punk rock treatment, too. Cool stuff.

Most listeners probably can't imagine how RealTracks were used here. I have a few ideas, but a few breadcrumbs might be instructive. Just a suggestion.

Hope to see more of your songs posted here. smile

Hi Alf,

What a cool song. Probably about Trump, I assume.
I'm jealous your wife was on it. I think she sang on the choruses too? I still can't get my wife to sing along to any of my songs.
How did you manage that?

But more seriously: why did you introduce this song in such a minor key, or rather, somber?
It's a minimalist song, but really cool. Like Ron said, it's a real earworm. The words "kick him, kick him" keep running through my head. I'll be thinking about them for hours to come! I think Andrew is having the same problem. But on the other hand; your vocals are really good, so, I don't expect much problems with the earworm. Otherwise I will kick him!

You did a great job, tell your wife that too!
Hans

thanks for the comments.

frankly i thought in some quarters the song might go over like a lead
balloon...lol.
thats why i pondered for a year whether to put it on the net.

i'll try and find the style i used for this...sorry..i do so many
songs...prob is docs want to limit my net/pc use for a coupla more weeks.

actually i sang the choruses and i wasnt really happy
with them. my wife who is shy did the commentary at start
and song end.

thanks for the listens.

DC RON.

you mentioned 'breadcrumbs'...
finally found in my song vault after 3 hrs search...lol.
it all came back to me.
THE WHOLE THING WAS A FUDGE....
...style used was _RKMDBM2.sty...BUT...
...i deleted some instruments eg geetars...and
...subbed in for example TEKNODRUMS

in other words to summarise...
i heavily modified the style to make it teckno/modern.
actually...and its all coming back to me...
a pg user awhile back said pg apps cant do 'modern'.
so challenge accepted...to be fair the song wasnt a
'wham bang' 10 minute job.
it was intricate detailed work...but what the hey...
i love a challenge...lol.

hope this helps...sorry it took awhile to reply to you...
but i'm going through some minor medical stuff.

PS...ANDREW DEE.

apologies...yes both bb and rb were used on the song.

happiness.

om

Actually, it's a pretty cool and extremely catchy tune.
Minimalist, like the band Trio in the '80s.
You might not like this, but it's my new favorite song of yours grin

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.

The 2026 49-PAK is loaded with other great new add-ons as well. Learn more about the 2026 49-PAK!
