Another song from me, written with BiaB (backing track), MuseScore 4 (melody), NotePad (lyrics), and finished in Suno (arrangement). Hello Musician17 (sorry, I've forgotten your name again),
You've created a beautiful song. Suno chose a wonderful singer, which makes the song sound even more beautiful.
Although I'm not religious at all, I think the lyrics are very beautiful!
You could, of course, also interpret the lyrics cynically. For example: if there is a God, why then... etc.
But let's stick to the song and the composition; I can only say that I find it very beautiful. And in my opinion, this isn't just a Christmas song. It's a song for all seasons, because this suffering is always there. And we can't put an end to it. Neither can God...
But perhaps it's God's gift that you can create such a beautiful song (?)

Hi James!
This is gorgeous, yet meaningful. Short-ish in length, but deserving of many more plays. The 6/8 feel works well for a Christmas song - and I love the reference to ‘Happy Xmas (war is over)’. That chord movement in the 3rd line of each verse is the icing that makes this musical cake. I also think the theme of ensuring that everyone enjoys the quality of life that we enjoy is a good one. It reminds us that one’s riches (money, health, security, relationships etc. ) are never accumulated in a vacuum - they are accumulated in the context of everyone else’s contributions in some form or another, and therefore there should be sharing and distribution.
Play it again next December!

Thanks, Hans. I'm not religious either, but I'm not sure we can blame whatever God there may be out there, or not, for human failings, that's all Anyway, I'm so glad you liked the song, wherever the inspiration for it may or may not have come from.
