DON'T THROW IT ALL AWAY (Soundcloud link) DON'T THROW IT ALL AWAY (Bandcamp link) This song came to me in a dream from which I woke up and remembered the melody and the first couple of lines. I immediately put what I remembered on a voice recorder. For those who would care to look the message/explanation of the song is revealed in Jeremiah 17:9, Ezekiel 36:26, Romans 8:28 and 2 Corinthians 5:17. The BIAB band carried most of this one! I guess the genre would be something like Bluegrass/Pop-Rock/Gospel. Thanks for having a listen. BIAB Drums - Train Beat Brushes Piano - 2693 Acoustic Rhythm Bass - 379 Electric Country Double-time Mandola - 3155 Acoustic Guitar - 3185 Organ - 2692 Modern Pop Mike Me Vocals and all electric guitar Don't Throw It All Away © 2026 Torrey Bliss/Ron Helm Glass Gate Music BMI Life is a gift we open each day Oh don't throw it all away We give up on love if we don't get our way Oh don't throw it all away The heart of the problem Is the problem of the heart You know you just can't trust it You say, where do I start? Take the Good Book hear what it has to say Oh don't throw it all away The bottle is deep But it's never deep enough Deep enough to wash all your guilt away The storms of your life Rage in your soul Oh don't throw it all away The heart of the problem Is the problem of the heart You know you just can't trust it You say, where do I start? Take the Good Book hear what it has to say Oh don't throw it all away Your family is young But you're not done having fun Oh don't throw it all away You've made them feel small Just to make yourself tall Oh don't throw it all away The heart of the problem Is the problem of the heart The Word says it's deceitful It has been from the start Take the Good Book hear what it has to say Oh don't throw it all away

Well, this proves my point, Torrey. This one is the best way to start every day. What a thrillig sound, man; chills are coarsing thru me. An incredible mix/master, which proves your consistency. The perfect band. And man, some excellent and timeless lyrics too. "The heart of the problem Is the problem of the heart". WOW, Of course we could substitute "mind" for heart. Your vocals are top-notch, including those wonderful harmonies.

Torrey, that's a powerful message wrapped in a ton of jaunty fun sounds. Love your vocals and vocal arrangement, and your lead guitar lines are quite sharp, too. The backing track sounds great. Those BiaB train drums always sound cool to me. Super mix, too.
Fantastic songcraft all the way around.

Very good Torrey! I like the pace of the song - makes me want to pick up a guitar, strum along, and come in on the chorus line. Those lead solos doubled are wonderful and crisp. A great listen! Andrew PS A good song to remember in times of doubt.

I've been away from the Showcase for a while so I haven't heard a Torrey Bliss song for quite a time. This is great. I'd forgotten how professional your songs sound. Your voice, the band, the production are all first class. I really enjoyed this one. Thank you. Mike

I was thinking the other day that it's been a while since we heard a new song from Torrey, and here it is!
Wonderful message, love the chorus especially. Those first two lines pretty much says it all:
"Life is a gift we open each day Oh don't throw it all away"
Taking life for granted is so easy to do, and I think most of us are guilty of doing that at some point.
Love your vocals and playing, top notch arrangement and mix too.
Great to hear a new one from you, Torrey, very much enjoyed it!

Hi Torrey, A good song, a good chorus (like you always have) and I hope that orange guy listens. But probably he wont, so I ignore him, and tell you this is a very good song, where your lyrics and your vocals really shine... Take a good book!!!

The beautifully swaying rhythm caught my attention from the very first beats. Nice chord progression reminds me bit of Black Magic Woman and the melody is sweet. I like the light arrangement where there is room for every instrument. You are singing really well, and the mix lets your voice emphasize the message clearly. Harmonies are excellent as always. Nice modulation and the guitar solo fits perfectly. Definitely one of your best songs, I really enjoyed your relaxed performance and how you managed to bring simple truth "Life is a gift we open each day" from your dream to all of us to hear.

The heart of the problem is a problem of the heart.
Great line. Infact the entirety of the lyrics have a mighty fine message. Too many people learn this the hard way.
Good song

Torrey,
This is definitely Bluegrass/Pop-Rock/Gospel. It's a different genre from your usual songs, but it still clearly reflects your individuality. The swaying rhythm and simple, beautiful, and memorable melody make this a wonderful song. Your vocals and guitar playing are as strong as ever. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

Torrey..."The heart of the problem is the problem of the heart" Wow! man you just wrote the perfect line to capture everything that I (personally) would want to convey in a song...I love everything about this one, the lyric, the style, the vocal and the arrangement...for some reason it had kind of an Eagles vibe to me...there were times in the melody I could hear Glenn (may he rest in peace)...I hope that's a compliment...I meant it to be...you never disappoint brother...well done good and faithful servant!

Hi Torrey.
What a fantastic song! From start to finish this is professional. Your song songwriting, arranging and producing shine brightly. Those opening two lines of the chorus, "The heart of the problem is the problem of the heart," really captured my imagination. These are not only powerful lyrics because of the very clever word-play, they are also powerful because they resonate with one of Life's universal truths. This song is yet another very impressive musical creation. I really enjoyed listening.

--Noel Thank you Noel for all those encouraging words! I always appreciate your supportive comments! TB
