I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone post this topic yet. The other day, I came across many YT channels posting about this Canadian group 'Angine de Poitrine' and its music utilising microtones - in their case, quarter tones on guitar and bass. In this video from Doug Helvering (The Daily Doug), he does a bit more theoretical analysis of two of their songs: YouTube: Doug Helvering - Angine de Poitrine but there are many more channels including Rick Beato, David Bennett, Hawkins Rides Again etc. as well as live concerts and the full KEXP radio performance that Doug took the videos from.

Most have been making comments like 'Is this the future of music'; 'Will this take on AI'; 'I've been waiting for this for 10 years' etc. It's not pioneering - I'm aware of at least one band 'King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard' from Melbourne, Australia that have done a whole album of microtonal rock. Who knew.

Anyway, it is fascinating to watch and listen to. Whether you like it or not, their musicianship is great and their outfits are hilarious!

What do you think?
