David. I did call him on his fish farm number about 10 years ago but he was a little suspicious that I was genuine. He did however mention me in his book, “Thank you Mr. Kibblethwait” when he tried to persuade me to stay in the group, but he couldn’t remember my name. I sometimes wonder what would have happened if I had stayed with them but then The Who wouldn’t have happened. He enlisted Entwhistle after that, who was a better bass player than me for that style of music.
When I was with him the group was called “The Detours” and were quite different in rock style from what they became. Priceless memories though and “I can't complain”. I did well after I left.
