The song did indeed go from a verse in A minor to a chorus in C major. The instrument playing between the chorus and the verse is Synthmaster 3. This in a MIDI-driven arpeggiator. A free version of the software comes with BIAB. I've upgraded to Synthmaster 3 which I picked up at a really generous price (they have a few sales throughout the year). There are lots of videos on YouTube about how to use the software if you want ideas for your own songs.
