Well, I was thinking back on the old days in my first proper band and came up with this.
I struggled with the mix, especially the compressor settings for days so I will leave it as is for the moment.
Any thoughts?

Thanks David. I kept myself composed.
That's where I got the idea. My first band in 1959-60. Mr. Daltrey joined us as the vocalist.

Good rock, but we'd like to hear the singer's voice a bit more. Nice work.

Oh wow! That is so cool! Man can you send me a PM and send me his mobile number? I need to give him a call about something.

🤣🤣🤣

I don't think anybody on the forum is ever going to be able to top that one man.

That is outrageously cool.

David. I did call him on his fish farm number about 10 years ago but he was a little suspicious that I was genuine. He did however mention me in his book, “Thank you Mr. Kibblethwait” when he tried to persuade me to stay in the group, but he couldn’t remember my name. I sometimes wonder what would have happened if I had stayed with them but then The Who wouldn’t have happened. He enlisted Entwhistle after that, who was a better bass player than me for that style of music.
When I was with him the group was called “The Detours” and were quite different in rock style from what they became. Priceless memories though and I can't complain as I did ok after I left.

Hi Bob. Thank you for those encouraging words.
A little different from my usual style I know, but I just felt the urge to get it out of my head.

Very groovalicious, Vic!

Superb Knopfler-esque sound to my ears, with a hearty tip of the hat to Townshend.

This style really suits you, and you've posted a banger of a song here. That's a cool story about The Detours, though I'm sometimes not quite sure of the larger-than-life stories that come with a post by David...

Great tune!

Vic, this is great!

Yeah, very much sounds like something The Who might have done, and very interesting to read the backstory about Daltrey and the Detours.

Maybe try bumping up the vocal a little, other than that, sounds good

I think I've addressed the vocal issue now.

My mind is TOTALLY BLOWN regarding the story!!! More than a brush with greatness. As to the song, I cranked it and had a good old time! Absolutely different for you but well done, mate!

Hi Vic!
I listened before and after vocal adjustment - yep, that did the trick! A classic rock track.

I'm done with working nine to five.
Rock and roll will keep us alive.

That’s my motto - why not?
Enjoyed it!
