After using a pc for over a quarter of a century and always using the Shutdown option its only of late I have started using the Sleep and finally the Hibernate option.

I'm loving the Hibernate option as it seems your SSD (best for doing Hibernate) writes a file to the drive, saving its state, your pc will then turn off, you can even disconnect the power and it will restart in a fraction of the time that it normally takes, when you power up again.

On an old pc here that is about 30 seconds.

Now and again its still good to do a proper shutdown so that drives or other issues can do a proper restart, but on the whole Hibernate is great, if you haven't tried it.
