100%...using power, using water - in huge amounts and providing things as useless &/or ephemeral as NFTs were/are.
I power down everything and turn them off at the power socket too. Little red lights and the standbye power suck bother me on all appliances. The only ones that stay connected are the ones without battery supported clocks. Two years ago I had a comp fried by a lighnting strike up the road...it sent a surge along the phone line, killed the modem & the comp. It was wide spread damage - I couldn't buy a modem for about 5 day as every appliance & conp store had sold out...most of those customers didn't lose their comps as they shut down when the storm started. I was in the process of shutting down appliances starting downstairs and was too late by he time I was top side.
