A theater company I belong to uses GoogleDrive. I feel safe in saying that 100% of us detest it because of access and incompatibility issues. I just finished producing one of our shoes last weekend. Many of the email threads between myself and the cast was over how to access the information they needed to stay current. Half of our post-production meeting today was a complaint session over it.
I use and administer a few GoogleDrive sites but never host my own files on it.

After carefull consideration I have decided to upgrade my SoundCloud account to ARTIST PRO.  Any one surprised?  I do appreciate everyones help in this decision. I believe we did find an alternative solution which was essentially cost free. I hope this may help others who consider this an option in the future. My ultimate decision was based on personal reasons. My SoundCloud account currently contain 52 of my personal offerings, and I believe each contains some small part of me, which is only present in these recording. I have no intention ( or dilusions) of marketing any of this content. The fact is, I have no one in my life left who I need to share these parts of me with. But at the same time, I do not want to hide them or archive them to be lost forever with my passing. Putting them on shared public space on the internet is my way of ensureing they will live on for some period of time, beyond me. Or, I can change my mind in a year and cancel the subscription.  Dan

Dan I disagree. I know that I, and I'm sure a number of other forum members, would like to hear them. May I suggest a PM list of forum members interested in your songs, thus you could let us know when you post a new song. Since the songs are not posted on the showcase forum I believe this is legal. If it is not legal I would gladly give you my email address. YMMV

Mario, that is such a sensitive and considerate message. Thank you for that. In the past couple years my music has changed significantly. Almost exclusively I am now singing the songs of my life. These fall into the category of "covers", whereby I attempt to reproduce the original material as closely as possible. Since the first of the year, I have been taking singing lessons to find my mixed voice. YouTube and SoundCloud are, for the most part, relaxed about hosting these covers. However, I have had ~5% of my offers rejected by their bots. Some of the original artist are very restrictive - this includes Van Morrison.  I will keep my SoundCloud PRO account so my forum friends can always check out the link in my Signature to see when new songs are posted. For those songs which can't be hosted by the online accounts I will provide an inconspicuous link to my Google Drive. Let me try this to see how it works. Thanks again for you message. Dan
