Mario,

Thanks so much - we both appreciate your support and kind words.

The Ladybird came with flat wound strings, but I changed them to 11-49 with a wound G string. I don't like the tension on the flats - they always feel very stiff to me. It's an awesome guitar. I had to sell a few others to help fund this one. smile

Hi Joliz and Bob,

You have made a very beautiful song! Let's start with that!
The band is very good, great guitar solo, and the lyrics are - naturally - brilliant!
But your voices fit in really well. Joliz was very creative in handling the backing vocals!

A real pleasure to listen to, although... that counts for all your songs!

As always, I’m fascinated by the story and the way you tell it, Bob.
I like the contrast between the verses, which have more of a singer-songwriter feel, and the almost gospel-like prayer in the chorus, which comes across especially clearly thanks to Joliz’s backing vocals.
A really good song [Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]

Hi Bob.

I always love listening to you and Joliz sing together. Every song that I've heard, without any exception, always sits very comfortably in my mind. It was the same with this one. I absolutely love the band that you have assembled and the way that you have arranged it. This backing provided the perfect stage for your excellent lyrics. Your ability to think of and to write images that draw the listener in is gift. The two phrases that really captured my imagination were: "Your coffee cup’s got a crescent moon, Where your lipstick used to stay". That is lyric writing at its very, very best.

Thank you both for entertaining me (again).

Magical poetry which expresses strong emotions and nuanced circumstances with just few words. That's a very catchy chorus which seems to come so naturally from you. Nice rhythm, the congas work very well and the solo guitar work is phenomenal. Joliz's and your vocal blend together once again so beautifully that I would love to listen to you even just a capella!

“There’s a crack on the bedroom wall
Like a river on a map
We traced it once with careful hands
Now we don’t do things like that”

That verse almost had Janice in tears.
And then the chorus really did it.
You always paint such a vivid picture.
And in this song you and Joliz both phrase those pleas so tenderly.

Everything sounds great - vocals, BiaB guys, your guitar and the mix.
Your guitar work was so supportive of the feel of the vocals and narrative. Wow!

Loved it,

J&B

"Your coffee cup’s got a crescent moon

I may be at a loss for words, but clearly you are not. Top shelf in every way. Take a bow, you two.

Hi, Bob! This is a really nice folk rock styled tune. It's also what I call lyric writing! You are the minstrel...a storyteller with tunes. Most of the time I just write words and I don't consider myself a lyricist. Also, you have unique and expressive vocals that stand out.
