I am using this to practice timing with. How can I get a loud metronome sound to click throughout. I can barely hear the native metronome at level 127.
Thanks. Michael

In RB I use a MIDI track and add PGPeakLimit to it (on it's own instance of a synth)
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

Hi Michael. While others might know how to make the metronome louder in BIAB, I'm not sure how to do it. That's why, like rharv, I looked at the metronome in Realband. Realband's metronome can be written to a track with a simple click, and that track can then be controlled by its own volume control. This may well be enough for you. ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=32551&filename=Metronome 1.jpg) What I did was... 1) I clicked on the metronome, select "Metronome Settings" and then wrote the metronome to one of the empty tracks (I chose Track 14). ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=32552&filename=Metronome 2.jpg) 2) Then I solo'd the track and saved it as a wma file. 3) Next, I imported the wma file and loaded the Peak Limit plugin that rharv mentioned onto that track. 4) Lastly, I raised the Pre-Gain of the Peak Limit plugin. ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=32553&filename=metronome 3.jpg) That gave really good results. --Noel Audio | My latest song using BIAB (2026) and Synth V’s ‘Ninezero’ vocaloid: Take Today And Make It MineVideo | With the BIAB chordsheet playback: Take Today And Make It Mine

Thanks. I did what Noel said and it worked. However, I want to save that track LOUD in a manner that allows me to import it into any project I am working on. Is it possible to do that? Because when I export the file or save it in any fashion, yes I can import it. But Noel's volume changes are gone. I'm back to the almost-silent ticking. I'd like to be able to stick this particular track into a project with the volume enhanced.
Thanks again.

FWIW:
1- Can you save it as a template? That is record only the metronome then save it as a song, maybe call it template. For every new project bring up the metronome only song first, then add your other tracks. Just be sure to save as because if you don't you will overwrite the metronome only song.
2-Save the metronome track as a wav and bring it into you project? Then can you have that wav track follow a tempo track? I don't use RB so I don't know however I know that I can do that in Fender Studio Pro 8 DAW.

While the track is a MIDI track, change all velocities to 127 I also change the sound to a side stick so it cuts thru better (channel 10 Eb2 or 3 I believe)
Lastly you can use AutoConvert MIDI track to Audio Apply the PGPeakLimit and then SOLO that track and Merge to a WAV file to keep it loud in other DAWs.
/Uncheck Solo after

Or just apply a Limiter on the track in the other DAW I would assume IT also has a way of making a track louder. Depends on the work flow. I use a file I made called Click.MID It is a sidestick on the 1/4 note .. most DAWs (including RB) allow putting some boost plugin (like Limiter or Compressor) on a MIDI track Easily imports into any DAW as a MIDI track Again, just decide the workflow that is best for you. http://masteringmatters.com/stuff2/click.MIDLink is not secure, but it's just exactly what I described above, if that's an issue I can move it to a secure site, but that's just more work to give work away
