4-14

I started this song on April 14 using Instachord 2 and Band-in-a-Box. I couldn't think of a good title for it then or after the song was finished so I just left it as 4-14. I'll let you give it a title.

Via my breath and/or keyboard controllers I am playing the following Swam instruments:
English Horn
Bassoon
Oboe
Double Bass section
Double Cello section
As well as these Kontakt instruments:
Amadeus Full String Section
Kurt Hunter Virtuoso Strings

Band-in-a-Box is supplying the following:
3055 Piano, Acoustic, rhythm - Patch = Lounge Lizard - Tine - Chorus Warmth
3909 Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking - Patch = Kontakt - Amadeus - Nylon String Guitar
3913 Guitar, Nylon, Rhythm - Patch = Kontakt - SoundProps - Jazz L4 V2

Instachord2 track - Patch = Kontakt - Amadeus - Harp

As always all comments are welcomed.

Mario,

This composition has some amazing musical layers. Another beautiful soundscape and mix. Those Swam instruments provide such depth.

BTW, I love the title - very, very cool. smile

A new favorite!

Bob

Considering that the title made me expect something along the lines of John Cage’s 4′33", there are actually quite a few instruments in your song, Mario smile
Beautiful, meditative soundscape with some almost oriental motives.
Very enjoyable [Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]

Hi Mario!
This is a nice piece! At first, I was confused as I thought ‘There aren’t 14 months in a year?’ grin
Seriously, I was going to suggest ‘Contentment’ as a title, but then it got slightly dark towards the end, so I don’t know. Maybe ‘Old person sitting in a chair’? I’ve always liked the sound of the English horn - I think that’s also called a Cor Anglais? I could be mistaken.

Anyway - a lovely piece. 14th April is my Mum’s birthday, so it’s meaningful.

Andrew

Thanx Bob. I like all of those Swam instruments, you actually have to play them. I think they are excellent emulations.

Thanx Brian. I believe this is the first BiaB song where I didn't use a style. I'm glad you liked it.

Sorry Andrew I forgot that other parts of the globe use a different order for dates. You did give me an idea though as I just might do a song and call it "February 30th" grin

I looked it up and yes the English horn is called the Cor Anglais.

"Old Man Sitting in a Chair" is my theme song! Plus it is true!

I'm glad you liked it.

Thanks for the invite, Mario. I call this one 420 cuz that's when i first heard it. Listened again today and still can't come up with a better one. You are a master of musical sensation, sir. Dreaming and moving, yet not moving through a dream, this one takes the listener on a personal jouney of interpretation. I came upon a fine fellow represented by the oboe. The string angels guided me through a glorious group of musical moments. Thanks so much for creating them all.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Well this old man sitting in a chair and his younger wife standing and swaying much enjoyed the tune. smile
Excellent arrangement, mix and performances all around.

Very contemplative indeed.

Good listen, liked the arpeggio throughout it, and the orchestral layers atop it. I'm sold on Swam. Top stuff!

Gorgeous piece, Mario. Like floating in a gentling swelling ocean. Look out for the seagulls! All the instruments sound great. I especially enjoyed the strings and oboe although the bassoon is quite cool, too. But it all works perfectly and sounds great. You're amazing!

Beautiful! Definitely one of your very best laidback soundtrack-like pieces, which ooze soft romance. Morricone couldn't have done better. Love all of that Swam woodwind and strings!
