Thats a tough one lasting 10 years.

Only with a PC. Both of my 2012 MacBook Pros, my wife's and daughters' 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2020 iMacs and Macbooks are running great—the macOS on all of those Intel Macs is obsolete for some and will be for all next fall but there's nothing that says anyone has to update as long as those machines keep doing what they're doing.

Apple has announced changes for late 2027 that mean new apps will not support Intel Macs. This will include BIAB which must go AS Native next year. Rosetta 2 lets many Intel apps run over Apple Silicon but it can't let AS Native apps run over Intel—there's nothing that does this. Unfortunately, not liking it changes nothing. It will not affect Apple Silicon, now in its sixth year.

As of now, there is no reason to believe that any M1/2/3/4/5 Mac does not have another ten years life in it. Heat is the enemy to longevity and these machines run ridiculously cool, even the fanless ones like our MacBook Airs. The only time I hear my Studio's fan is when I'm testing them.
