Hello Folks,
a simple video. Steve didn't think appearing playing & singing over this darkish tune was appropriate so It's a semi illustrative flick this time.
Built from the ground up using BIAB and retaining the RealDrums and organ RealTrack.
Thanks for the ears.

Cheers

Ray, still a great tune. Not an unenjoyable note being played/sung by anyone. The guitar work is spectacular. Superb mix...

I think you've found the perfect singer for your arrangements in Steve, he's a perfect fit.
I can't decide if it's a sad, depressed or a protest song, but I like it.
Good work from both of you [Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in][Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]

This is so good, Ray. I really enjoy Steve's contributions, and of course that perfectly crafted bass track. The video is good too. Your videos have your signature technique and this one uses all that and more. An interesting trip for sure. Dig that solo and Steve's vocal is perfect.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hi rayc,
Your guitars were great! Good recording and mix.
Video was interesting albeit dark.

Well done on the final mix and video, Ray! Takes me back. I don’t mind the combination of happy and sad - life can be like that.

Thanks DC,
I'm glad I didn't kill it on the home stretch - I've done that before.
Yep, Steve plays for a living & it shows.

Thanks B.D.,
As far as singing goes the song grabbed Steve...lucky me.
Yes, the narrative goes from observation to fear quickly enough.

Ta Marty,
I quite like the bass but, as usual with me, having stolen all the chord tones for bass, the melody hasn't much unique to it & echoes the bass closely.

ALL the guitars? I rarely play well enough to be mentioned ...Steve's lead work on the other hand is FAB.
Yes, a dark vid for a slowly darkening story.

Ta Andrew,
Yeah, the story arc is, if nothing more, not static.

The vid is engaging and supportive of y'all's collab.
This mastered audio definitely has outstanding dynamics.

Kudos to you two and your ME.

Hi Ray,

I think this version of your song is very beautiful! Despite the sad lyrics, the vocals sound almost cheerful.

The music was clear and distinct. You all did a very, very good job with that.
I really enjoyed it, even the video, although the demolition of that house hurt me a little...

I was late to the party so I saw this on page one. Loved the finished mix and master. Cool vocal and lyric. Loved the driving guitar on the right and the groove from the basslines. Really well done. Excellent video as well..

Hi Ray.

I listened to this a couple of weeks ago when it was still a work in progress. I really love what you've done. You and Steve have created an excellent song. The song and the video are very engaging from start to finish. I really love the way that rhyme has been used in these lyrics. The lyric-flow and the lyrics-fit with the music are very skillfully done.

This does sound better. Crisper with more instrument distinction. The vocal is more present too.
