To clarify:

1 - Is it correct that you do not hear any MIDI at all? Also try ZZJAZZ.STY.

2 - When you load a RealStyle (_HESIT8.STY is only RealTracks, no MIDI), you hear a metronome click.
Do you ALSO hear the other instruments playing or ONLY that "metronome" sound? (or whatever the drum click is).

Maybe you have some unexpected plugin selected. Try this - close Band-in-a-Box, and open the "Plugin Settings" folder in your Band-in-a-Box folder. Find and delete any DefaultSynth*.tgs and plugin_list*.txt files you see there. Open Band-in-a-Box and see if that fixed it (Band-in-a-Box will re-create these files as needed).

Also, in your other thread I had a request that you may not have seen. I'll repeat it here:
With Band-in-a-Box closed, please find the intrface.bbm file in the 'Applications/Band-in-a-Box/Preferences' folder. Zip this file (right-click on it and compress), and then email this zip file as an attachment to support with a message to refer to this forum thread.

You can then try renaming the file intrface_old.bbm and running Band-in-a-Box to see if the problem happens with default settings.
(The intrface_old is a backup of your settings.)
