I just saw this online. There are a few musicians in Eastern NC who played in his band. It was like a carousel from what I have heard. No one was safe from him pulling the bus over and putting someone on the literal side of the road with their gear and clothes and driving off. Often for the slightest reason or for no reason other than he didn't like you. A number of them have a yearly DAC Survivors club reunion.

My wife and I drove 2 hrs to see him many years ago at a nightclub I had played a time or two. I was sick that night, running a fever and generally feeling bad. DAC was drunk and could barely stand. Aside from being too loud and the vulgar conduct, we didn't stay very long. I later heard that he ran over one of the club patrons with his limo after the show.

While DAC was a less than stellar individual, he was an excellent musician and singer.
