Hi Vic,
This song gave me the same feeling as your song about your father from a while back. I thought that song was really great, and I think the same about this song! Your vocals here are very good and very sensitive.
I agree with everyone here: if this takes you out of your comfort zone, just stay out of it. This is a really good song. I heard a strange effect on your vocals (electronic?), but apart from that, I think it is a truly beautiful song with a lovely melody (I notice I'm repeating myself)!

Wistful retrospect is a subject that always works for me. You have expressed melancholy in a touching way with a memorable melody. The calm arrangement highlights your pleasant voice of experience and the floating through the stars, nice harmonies too. Reminded me of Sting, so I think this was a very successful jump into another territory.

Can't remember writing one about my father.
I did write one about my Great Uncle who went to live in Pennsylvania. Maybe that was the one.
Not sure about the effect. I did have some heavy breaths there which I have now deleted.
Other than that, maybe it was the delay effect. I'll have another listen.

Really nice song, well played and well sung. My first impression of the vocal production was it wasn't clear and at the forefront, but in retrospect it works with the reverb giving it that "Lost In Space" effect.

I really enjoyed listening to this a lot. I love the words and music, the arrangement, the backing track and the groove. It's also a great mix and a very engaging production. And to cap it all off, your vocals are a first-class fit. I must give a thumbs up to those excellent musical fill-ins, too.

These are great lines:

It all sounds good and the levels sound right and the mix is excellent.
The melody and guitar have a Dire Straits feel to them and that is very enjoyable.
