I'm glad I dug in a bit deeper with the flugelhorn. I'd gotten the library a while back, and while it sounded OK, it didn't have the realism I wanted. Adding those small articulations made all the difference.

I don't intend for it to sound difficult. laugh

One thing I hate is coming up with a melody line and then forgetting it. And honestly, once I'm done with a song, I tend to forget how it goes. I just don't have that sort of memory. Now, if I had to sing the song a half-dozen times, that would be a different matter. But coming up with the melody in the piano roll makes it easy to move around notes, and focus on phrasing stuff just the way I want it. I can look at the melody and see where I've got too much similarity or arpeggiated lines.

Most importantly, I can come back the next day and it's still there.

So this works out really well for me - at least, for vocals. smile
