Hi Bob!
Thank you for bringing Elyse Weinberg to our attention - I had never heard of her. I listened to a number of her songs today - from her self-titled debut album; her second album ‘Greasepaint smile’; and an album released in the early 2000s titled ‘In my own sweet time’, some 30 years after her third unreleased album which is still in the vault. Apparently, in between, she withdrew from commercial music and worked in insurance - talk about chalk and cheese!
Her story kind of reminds of that of Rodriguez as told through the documentary ‘Searching for Sugarman’.

Bob - your lyrics express so much about the girl that walked away from music, but came back ‘in her own sweet time’. I wonder how many other brilliant musicians that were lost will one day be found?

I’m going off to listen to Nick Drake’s ‘River man’ while I ponder that thought.

Andrew
