Song is a tradtional folk song from Finland "Tuomen juurella", which I translated as truly to the original as possible.
In my rendition I sing and play guitars, mandolins and tenor banjo.
I produced this at my home with Band in a Box and Reaper.

At The Foot of A Hackberry (Finnish folk song, translation EB 2026)

A hackberry stands by the side of the stream,
at whose foot you can find me crying.
My darling one went to foreign land.
I was left by myself here longing.

Hide my tears, Netherworld,
and dear Death, shut my eyes from weeping.
Then be my friend and stay with me,
who was left here alone for yearning.
