I watched the video (yes, I received this one OK).
I started off as being slightly alarmed, then more concerned, but I agreed, the drawing of notes on the piano keyboard go to me too.

I'm a classically trained pianist. The instrument is to be revered. We NEVER, EVER drew letters on the piano keyboard.

Written notation can easily deliver that, no problems, but, no, a critical short-circuit would be introduced to bypass the step of identifying notes because they were already labelled on the keyboard. YMMV, but I have no regrets on doing it the 'hard way' .

I doubt that the methods implied actually achieve the stated results. Many of the comments in the methods were highly subjective.
