Dan, to be sure, there are a ton of scams and scammers out there and they are enabled by AI these days. And I agree that 60 minutes has been known for top quality journalistic integrity and intelligence over the years. But I have to be more forgiving and disagree that they are part of a scam.

At this point in time, and we are still early in this "investigation", the furthest I can go is to label 60 Minutes as possibly incompetent, naiive and misled. They are too smart to intentionally participate in a scam like this, they have too much to lose. But if the firestorm continues they may be forced to redact and correct themselves, which, to their credit, they have done in the past.

Also keep in mind that there will always be backlash and howling whenever new technology or new methods emerge, AI is a great example where you've heard "I see a lot of artificial but no intelligence" despite the fact that AI is solving intractable math problems, assisting in drug discovery and much more. If you were a buggy whip manufacturer, you hated when the automobile arrived. In general, people don't like change, and when it happens it's disruptive and there are always people that are negatively affected. Therefore, one must either adapt or pay a price because if there's anything that's constant . . . it's change.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.
