My socio-economic status has changed over the years as is common with my cohort. Which period and which status are you referring to?
Were you unsuccessful in your chosen career while others advanced in theirs?
Again, what is your interpretation of success? I really loved my job. I deem that a success. Advancement within a particular hierarchy isn't always a measure of success - in fact within my profession advancement is often seen as a move away from core principles.
Are you dismayed by the status of your country on the world stage when you see other countries rise?
That's an odd question. My "country", a socialist democracy, is doing okay except with regard to injury inflicted upon it by your president in his latest round of tariffs for bogus reasons.
There must be some underlying stress or trauma that fills you with this hate.

In Australia we have a history of The Tall Poppy Syndrome where by anyone who raises their head above the crowd, and does so in a way that denigrates the masses, is brought back to reality swiftly & publicly. That said I'm not a huge fan of the vigilantism that can come of this. I do like the idea that people can be "successful" and not rub it in the faces of those less so.
