Here's another song written 2010 with Pat Bishop. The original is on my website. #20 on the list.

I Don't Care

Here are the specs and the back story. Everyone at one time or another has had a job that was miserable and you just wanted to quit.... I mean walk up to the boss and with an unmistakable big old middle finger salute, tell him where to go and what to do when he gets there kind of thing. Burn that bridge baby. Turn around and walk out the door and go find something more interesting to do with your life, even if it requires a bit of time on a beach fueled by alcohol to figure it out. This story may or may not be pulled from my own personal experience.

the Band:

Vocals: Josh
Drums: synth
Slide guitar : BB # 669
B3: BB #686

Bass Guitar, Piano, Electric Guitars (a couple of guitar tracks): Herb Hartley

Bass was recorded through the Spark 40 clean bass model
Guitars are running through the Quilter Direct Amp "mostly clean".
I used an old Joyo Ultimate Drive pedal on the solo just for grins.
The piano is one of the synths in Kontakt.

Lyrics: Pat Bishop & Herb Hartley

I DON'T CARE

Been in this town since I was 23
This factory job is killing me
Seasons come and go, same old grind is getting old

It's like a parking lot on the interstate
Headed to, a job I hate more and more each day,
There's got to be a better way

I'm gonna be an hour late, this might be more than fate
But right now I just don't care.. I don't care

The boss man went crazy yelling at me.
he don't pay me enough to take his grief.
I walked out the door, I ain't going back no more

Bought a ticket on a plane headed south
I'll go insane if I don't get out and get away
So I'm leaving today

I got other plans to make, this might be my big mistake
But right now I just don't care.. I don't care

I don't care where I go As long as warm breezes blow
The palm trees sway music playing, every day
Leaving it all behind, trying to find a little peace of mind
And live my life each day like I don't care.

SOLO

Just touched down on a tropical isle Native girl with a friendly smile,
Sunshine on my face, I couldn't be in a better place
Tomorrow afternoon I'll work on my tan,
Lay in the sun, cold drink in my hand
Just gonna waste the day, see what comes my way

I could spend every dime I made, to stay here one more day And right now I just don't care..

I don't care I don't care where I go As long as warm breezes blow
The palm trees sway music playing every day Leaving it all behind, trying to find a little peace of mind
And live my life each day like I don't care. Yeah I don't care
