SO GLAD

Church was a bit different this morning. After hearing a message on "the parable of the sower" we were invited to split up and join of several focus groups for twenty minutes or so, to explore the text a little further = e.g. quiet refelction, discussion, hands-on media, or songwriting. I chose the latter.
In about ten minutes, I had four short stanzas and showed the words to my old pal, Neville, who borrowed a guitar and strummed a simple chord progression. Two minutes later, he had the beginnings a melody. Later this afternoon, I made a few modifications and here we are.

SO GLAD

A Sower sowed some seeds one day
But hungry birds took some away
So sad, so sad, so sad

Some seeds fell among the stones
Their roots were shallow; now they're gone
Too bad, too bad, too bad

Others fell among the weeds
That choked the Sower's precious seeds
So sad, so sad

But some seed fell upon good ground
They grew up tall; they grew up sound
So glad, so glad, so glad

Others fell among the weeds
That choked the Sower's precious seeds
So sad, so sad

But some seed fell upon good ground
They grew up tall; they grew up sound
So glad, so glad, so glad
So glad, so glad, so glad
