Hi Chris.

The problem arises because a number of different music programs define middle C in their own unique way. It's not just IK Multimedia and BIAB. As far as I'm aware, to fix this issue, set the bass's MIDI channel to play on octave higher or lower. The setting is in "Options | Preferences | Channels". By default, BIAB is set to –1 (an octave lower than the written pitch). If you need to raise this an octave change this setting to 0 (zero). To lower it an octave, change the setting to –2.

If your bass is on a Utility track, changing the MIDI channel of the Utility track to Channel 2 (the bass's channel that's set in the preferences setting above) is worth trying. I haven't done this yet, so I don't know if it works or not.
