(Brain is a bit scrambled after the accident - forgot how to properly compose the title of the thread without the url annotated.)

Anyway, this is one I put together 6 or 7 years ago but never posted. I no longer have the track selections, but it's all BIAB. It's a simple Smooth Jazz/Easy Listening song. Since getting out of the hospital, I've been creating songs in BIAB, uploading the tracks to AI and substituting many of the BIAB tracks with AI-generated instruments, but always keep a couple of BAIB tracks. And all lyrics are mine. 'll post one soon, if that meets the forum understanding. All vocals are AI.

Anyway, hope some of you might like this one.

Thanks in advance,

Alan

Hi Alan!
Good to see you back here at the Forum! I hope your accident wasn't too serious, and you are healing well.

This song is smooth indeed! The band is busy but the instruments don't seem to get in the way of each other - cool! I don't smoke either, but it set the scene for me!

Good one!
Andrew

Hi Al.
I wondered where you'd gone. We try to avoid accidents at all costs when we reach a certain age, but they try just as hard to happen.
I played it through but couldn't here any vocals. Maybe it's my ears.
Is that you playing lead? Great mix.

Vic

I was worried, so it is very nice to find you are back on the forum again with a silky smooth jazz ballad. You are a true master in this genre, controlling BIAB with excellent instrument selection, perfect chord progression and pleasant mixing. That solo guitarist sounds very authentic and so does the whole band, could be a live recording, I only miss applause and the final "thank you".

Janne

Ahhhhhh <-- many of those Hs are happy sounds that you are back, buddy. There aren't enough Hs to say how relaxingly cool this sound is, Alan. You always make the listener especially happy they pushed Play. i'll light one up for ya, but to paraphrase Belushi, "I gave up cigarettes but i didn't give up smokin'." smile Alan, so glad you are recovering. Hope my favorite Pennsylvanian is doing well. I'm on the mend and headed in the right direction. As I told Dan a moment ago, I now have a legit excuse for the brain fog!

Alan, first and foremost I pray that you heal completely.
Second, this is some very serious smooth jazz.
Outstanding chops on the jazz box.
Super backing band and mix.
I heard a touch of George Benson in there.
Loved it.

Welcome back indeed.
We were not aware of an accident and hope you are doing better.
And continue to so.

Your songs are always very engaging from the get go.
And that makes it difficult to try and parse them out.
Particularly when we had just rather listen again. smile

So ... great band, excellent arrangement and a fine open/airy mix.

Very cinematic and much enjoyed by us!
Fits perfectly while watching a gentle breeze sway our porch plants.

Take care,
J&B

Hi Mario,

Thanks so much for the nice words. I still have some lingering effects from the accident (A really bad fall that knocked me out cold ER. Dr said I'm lucky to be alive - the chances of a fatal cerebral aneurysm were in excess than 90%). Appreciate your thoughtful comments on that.

Yeah, George is one of my favorites. Glad you enjoyed it.

Best to you,

Alan

Good stuff, Alan. Yes, I can hear the Benson./ CTI feel to this track! Was wondering about you, terrible news on one hand but SO very happy you pulled through! We had a friend with the same kind of fall recently but didn't make it, so let's all be gratefull for the precious time we have on this planet. BIAB, I'm sure, is great therapy, looking forward to what you do with the new version the rest of this year. WELCOME BACK!!

Thank you, Brian. I truly appreciate that. It's not one of my best, but it isn't too shabby either. Glad you enjoyed it.

That's very kind of you to say. And it's very good to be back. Actually, it's good to be anywhere. I appreciate every day I'm blessed with being here. I still have some brain fog quite often, but it could be worse - so, no complaints.

So glad you enjoyed this. I know you like Smooth Jazz and the like. George Benson, Wes Montgomery, fred newell andGrady martin have been influences in my playing. Also Carl Jackson.

Looking forward to contributing with some decent new music soon. At least I hope it's decent.

Hi!

So good to hear from you! Glad you liked it. It's not one of mt favorites I've done, but I didn't have anything new to post at the time, so I went with this one.

I just wanted to reiterate how much i enjoyed your children's song. That was marvelous!

Thanks for the listen and, as always, kind words.

I'm doing better. I had a severe concussion that knocked me out due to a really frightening fall. The physical pain is pretty much gone, but I still experience a ot of brain fog that makes complex issues difficult. But I'm here to talk about it, so that's good!

Oh wow, the concussion does sound frightening - however, as you say, you're here to talk about it, and that's the best thing about such things. I'm so glad you're in one piece! smile . Thank you so much for your kind words! Take good care of yourself, too!!!

You still have good ears. Mix is fabulous. You've captured that easy listening 70s sound well.

So ... great band, excellent arrangement and a fine open/airy mix.

Very cinematic and much enjoyed by us!
Fits perfectly while watching a gentle breeze sway our porch plants.

Janice and Bud,

You are always so very kind with your comments about my music. Bud ... we old farts gotta hang together as much as possible!

I'm never sure how to reply to your comments as they are so nice. i hope a very sincere, "Thank YOY!" is adequate.

I do appreciate the encouraging words!

wishing both of you the very best,

Alan

Floyd,

It's great to be back. I'm never sure what to say in return when you throw that word "Master" into your comments. Trust me, it' puts a smile on an old guy's face!.
Hopefully, an expression of sincere thanks is adequate.

I'm doing pretty good since the accident. Quite a bit of brain fog off and on, but otherwise, could be a lot worse.

Again, Many thanks.

Alan

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.

The 2026 49-PAK is loaded with other great new add-ons as well. Learn more about the 2026 49-PAK!
