re stem splitters.
(Mike agree with your points.)

ive tried a couple includeing rb one and obviously it depends on the audio source quality from my tests.

imho...the elephant in the room is once split how to improve the stems that are in a rough state.

i would love to update some of my songs done in tape based commercial studios in the past as well as when i had a modest tape based home studio years back.

hopefully one day to improve old stereo recordings will become a three stage process...

..create stems from a stereo master....then....
..correct stems due to any slight tempo variations.
eg the best tape multitracks can vary eg up to 0.6% from
what i understand.
..for those stems that are just too far gone a user can tell AI to 'model' a new track.
eg violin trak too far gone AI creates a new one based on the song and the notes.

i was reading about a new stem seperator with 15 stems apparently.
i'm trying to be optimistic that one day maybe there will be tools that make me happy.

gonna follow this thread further.

happiness to all.
