There are no stem splitters or vocal extractors that do a quality job. Oh yeah, they're halfway decent and get the job done but it's still subtractive. That means it doesn't have the quality of an original track. The timbre and character are missing. It's weak and watery sounding and filled with artifacts from the extraction process and the missing data.

Until extraction is able to not only extract the instrument or vocal and then rebuild the track and replace the missing data, it's only going to be a shadow of what musicians expect to hear.

I have no doubt that at some point, this will happen, but we're not at that point quite yet
