OK, Its 2026 and AI will make any claims it can. So Let me try again! First understand I went to ChatGPT and it claims BIAB can do all that I want and more!!! Can BIAB Import and Export a full tempo map? YES!!

I will start with: How do I take a tempo map from reaper into BIAB?
Stayed tuned this will take me some time.

---------------------

To move a tempo map from REAPER into Band-in-a-Box (BIAB), you must export the tempo data as a MIDI file from REAPER and then open or import that MIDI file into BIAB. BIAB will read the embedded MIDI time markers and automatically apply them to your chord sheet.

Step 1: Create an Empty MIDI Track in REAPER’s master track houses the tempo envelope, but you cannot export the master track by itself. You must have at least one MIDI item on a standard track for the export tool to work. Press Ctrl + T (Windows) or Cmd + T (Mac) to insert a new track.Highlight a time selection from the very beginning to the very end of your song.Go to the top menu and select Insert > New MIDI Item.

Step 2: Export the Project MIDI from REAPER Click File > Export Project MIDI... from the main menu.In the export dialog box, choose Entire Project. Check the box that says Embed project tempo and time signature changes.Set the export format to Multitrack MIDI file (Type 1) or a single consolidated track.Click Browse, select your destination folder, name the file, and hit Save/Export.

Step 3: Import the Tempo Map into BIAB Open standalone Band-in-a-Box. Go to File > Open Special > Open MIDI File (or simply drag and drop the saved MIDI file directly into the BIAB window). A dialog box will appear asking how to handle the file. Ensure you check any option to Import Tempo Map or Keep File Tempos. BIAB will instantly sync its bar lines and grid to match the shifting tempos from your REAPER session.
