Thanks, Bob. Right? i often write with Dave in mind, like this one. But when i have a song that i feel he wouldn't want to play on, he knocks me out with what he creates for it. He's a true session player --AND a singer who can write great songs.

The lyrics are like a chapter from the book of Proverbs - giving wise advice. Talking about books, I was trying to read the cover of the book being held by the soul in the last scene and couldn’t quite make it out - Headenly Hooved?

Thanks, Andrew. Hehe, i see what you did there with the bell. Nice! Yeah, one book was supposed to say Earthly Deeds and the soul's book would say Heavenly Rewards. That's why there should be a lowercase i for Ai, but i enjoy its wonkiness.

Great video as well! LOVED IT!

Thanks, Bob. This is so much fun, and you make it more so.

It’s hard not to feel connected to a song when the bassist and guitarist look like they’re about to quantum leap straight out of the screen. 🆒 🎬

Let’s be honest: Marty isn’t just a musician, he’s the undisputed literary mastermind behind the critically acclaimed self-help essential, “Good Deds - Hexarlly Rooveds.” ◔◡◔
It’s the ultimate guide for dodging haters, locking your inner gremlins in the basement, and adulting so hard your soul finally stops crying in the corner. (ˆ◡ˆ)

As for the tune itself? It’s a thoroughly delightful, Santana-esque cruise through Latin-rock paradise, with Dave dropping sweet, electric licks in all the right places.
But let’s give credit where credit is due: the Undisputed Star of this entire production is the one and only Marty Straub:bass player extraordinaire, groove merchant, and master storyteller. 📜 👋
Your vocals are so clear, on-pitch, and forward in the mix that I felt legally obligated to sit up straight and take notes.
The whole mix is cleaner than a whistle, with every instrument and voice comfortably lounging in its own designated audio-spectrum easy chair. 🎤 👌 🎧

This is a stellar follow-up to your brilliant "Santa Fe" track (which I totally missed while I was away).

Honestly, Marty, it’s a pure joy to watch and hear your creations. And let's be real....it is indeed a very wise person who takes notice of your profound insights. (Mostly because if we don't, our souls won't get their wings and ring that It's a Wonderful Life bell at the end!) ֍

Brilliant stuff, my friend! 🔥 ༼♥ل͜♥༽
Keep 'em coming!

Holy crap, Izzy! You are by far my favorite writer --and not just when you're talking about my song. Every comment you add on this forum is freakin' awesome in its depth AND its phrasing, word choices and perspective. With a mind as creative as yours, you should be writting books --at least short stories, or commentaries on the state of the world --or anything. You know how we say Janice Merritt can sing a phonebook and make it sound amazing. i bet you can rewrite phonebooks to be best sellers. You remind me of John Lennon's 2 books, but more heady. Intellectual while plebeian, an Everyman's angle that wasn't readily noticeable.

“Good Deds - Hexarlly Rooveds.” ◔◡◔ <-- yeah, once we all understand that... Well, you already have a good handle on it. Man, this place is a lot less colorful when you are away.

Enjoy whatever happens!
