So I'm happy with the one year Microsoft reprieve, since my tower computer is very capable (32GB RAM, 11 TB 7200 RPM SATA storage, i7 processor).

I'm not familiar with zinstall, but will follow this thread for a potential solution when the time comes.
A MB upgrade may allow you to keep the rest of the stuff and add TPM2
That's what my last ROG MB did for me .. (ASUS B450M-A II)
I no longer get the TPM failure when checking to upgrade.
