If you use M$ Word or Works Word Processor (maybe most others) then try this tip for typing the copyright symbol: Type a title, etc., followed by (c) like this:
My Song Title(C). Note: No spaces before the "(". It will yield the copyright symbol. if that won't work in your word processor then try this: ALT+0169 on the NUM PAD (not the numbers above the QWERTY keys). The copyright symbol is ASCII code 0169 and should work on any computer.

In word Alt-Ctrl-C will give you the copyright symbol.

If you forget the code, just go to the File, Print Song menu and you'll see a convenient Copyright button. Press it and then highlight and copy the character to paste the symbol wherever you need it.

The Character Map is your friend. In Windows XP, find it in Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Character Map. (I think it's the same in all versions of Windows going back to '95; not sure about Vista.) Set "Font" to "Arial Unicode MS" and you will find many other symbols, diacritical marks, foreign alphabets and ideograms, wingdings, etc.
I have a shortcut on my taskbar because I use it so much for foreign languages, without doing a full keyboard remap (another tool). Hmm . . . need to update my character set; it's not displaying Lao correctly.

You could also go back to the old trick of <Alt> number pad...: <Alt 0169> is the symbol: ©

ALT + 0174 = ® ALT + 0153 = ™ ALT + 0188 = ¼ ALT + 0189 = ½ ALT + 0190 = ¾ ALT + 0176 = ° (Degree) ALT = 0162 = ¢ ALT + 0134 = † (Cross or Dagger) These are ones I use a lot. Some keyboards will not do every one, but a majority will. Hope this helps!
