The Character Map is your friend. In Windows XP, find it in Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Character Map. (I think it's the same in all versions of Windows going back to '95; not sure about Vista.) Set "Font" to "Arial Unicode MS" and you will find many other symbols, diacritical marks, foreign alphabets and ideograms, wingdings, etc.

I have a shortcut on my taskbar because I use it so much for foreign languages, without doing a full keyboard remap (another tool). Hmm . . . need to update my character set; it's not displaying Lao correctly.
