I totally agree about getting great sound for yourself. I play primarily for enjoyment although I could have probably squeeked out a living. I enjoy the entire process from recording to performing. We use some excellent digital pianos (RD 700s) and I know that in stereo through a very good sound system the piano and organs are incredible. The piano without stereo doesn't come close. I also find that the drums in stereo makes a big diference. Almost all of my drum mixes are panned for a nice stereo effect. I am just the guitar player in mono but I really appreciate hearing the great sound.

Great sounding tracks also makes you play better. I went to a jazz jam session last week and the sound was terrible and loud with a horrible piano. Next time I will pass and jam with my own tracks.

I know there are many bad rooms but I always prefer hearing stereo. We use the 45 degree angle as well with the speakers slightly behind us. We typically have no need for a monitor. We run everything mikes (vocals, trumpet and violin), keyboard, BIAB tracks through the system and I play through a Roland 80 watt Cube for guitar.

We also have the Yamaha System pictured above and two PV 15 Plastic cabs for large gigs - except for outside I doubt that they will be used much.
