Hallo an Alle,
Habe mir bei PG-Music für 59$ das RealTracks-Paket "All That Jazz" gekauft und bin begeistert.
In Realband habe Ich ein biab-File geöffnet und 3 Solos Posaune, Trompete, Sax in 3 neuen Tracks generiert.
Die Solos sind Phantastisch, wie von echten Musikern gespielt, man hört sogar die Atemgeräusche. (Oder bilde ich mir das nur ein ?)
Als ich das .mgu-File in biab öffnete waren die Soli auch dort zu hören.
Mit einem anderen biab-File hat das dann nicht funktioniert. Wo kann das dran liegen?
Für den Preis von 59$ lohnt es sich wirklich zu kaufen.

Hallo Helmut,
stimmt, die RealTracks aus dem "All That Jazz"-Paket sind wirklich sehr "real". Macht Spaß, damit zu experimentieren - egal ob in RealBand oder in BiaB.
Bei Deinem Problem habe ich aber eines nicht ganz verstanden: Wenn Du in RealBand drei neue Spuren mit Realrack-Instrumenten generierst und die Datei dann speicherst, kannst Du die ursprüngliche *.mgu-Datei aus BiaB doch nur als *.SEQ-Datei oder als Midi- oder Karaoke-Datei speichern - aber nicht wieder im ursprünglichen BiaB-MGU-Format. In BiaB aber kannst Du die RealBand-SEQ-Dateien wiederum nicht laden. Wie hast Du denn bei Deinem ersten Versuch das RealBand-Arrangement in BiaB als *.MGU übernommen?
Umgekehrt geht es sehr gut. Die in BiaB generierten Realtrack-Spuren werden in RealBand problemlos eingelesen und können dort weiter bearbeitet werden, abgemischt und mit Effekten versehen werden. Ich denke, so hat sich PGMusic auch den Workflow gedacht.

Lieber Ralf,
nach langem Experimentieren habe ich herausgefunden wie es funktioniert.
Ich habe ein komplettes Mixdown der Realband-Spuren in eine .Wav-Datei
mit dem selben Namen wie die .mgu-Datei imVerzeichnis der BiaB-Datei erzeugt.
Biab spielt diese Datei dann zusätzlich zu seinen Stimmen. (eine brauchbare Funktion)
Diesen Efekt konnte ich mit einem anderen Song reproduzieren.

Hallo Helmut, viele Wege führen nach Rom, vor allem bei einem so komplexen Programm wie BiaB. Deine Lösung ist eine mögliche Variante und funktioniert. Nachteilig ist nur, dass der Mixdownteil bei der weiteren Bearbeitung nicht mehr verändert werden kann, weil die einzelnen Instrumente ja nur noch als gerenderte Wave-Datei auf einer einzelnen Audiospur vorliegen. Der von mir aufgezeigte Weg über den Instrumentenwechsel - und zwar part-, strophen oder taktweise beim Melodisten und/oder Soloisten - funktioniert leider bei Nutzung von RealTracks nicht. Insofern sorry für die falsche Fährte  . Ich hatte die Funktion seinerzeit ausprobiert, als es nur Midi-Instrumente gab. Es ist schade, dass diese nützliche Funktion mit den neu eingeführten Realtracks nicht klappt. Das sollte PGMusic bei künftigen Updates berücksichtigen. Bei der klanglichen Verbesserung werden die Midi-Instrumente m.E. ja immer mehr von den Realtracks ersetzt. Der Qualitätssprung ist schon sehr groß. Hier kommt aber wieder das neue RealBand-Programm ins Spiel, das durch seinen kombinierten BiaB/Sequencer-Ansatz viel besser mit den Realtracks umgehen kann. Schau Dir mal das Demo-Video zu Realband auf der PGMusic-Seite an: http://64.40.109.185/pgmusic/wmv/IntroToRealBand.wmv Ab Zählerstand ca. 15:50 Minuten wird dort beschrieben, wie man Realtrack-Parts taktgenau innerhalb eines Songs - unter Nutzung aller Styles und Parameter - in einen Song einbauen kann. Und das auf beliebig vielen Spuren. Damit kannst Du komplexe Arrangements basteln, auf beliebig vielen Spuren Soli an- und ausschalten, Instrumente wechseln usw. Das ist der große Vorteil von RealBand gegenüber BiaB, weil hier ähnlich wie bei Sequenzern a la Cubase usw. spurbezogen und mit Timeline gearbeitet werden kann. Nur dass RealBand gegenüber Cubase und Co. noch die Akkordstruktur des Songs, die Solostyles und andere BiaB-Features nutzt. Fazit: Was in alleine BiaB nicht geht, kann mit der Kombination aus BiaB und RealBand sehr gut realisiert werden. Gruß Ralf

Hallo Ralf,
das Video hatte ich mir schon vorher angesehen. Es zeigt sehr gut wie man Soli generiert.
Um in Biab keine Spur doppelt zu haben, habe ich nun nur die Soli in eine Wav-Datei exportiert.
nun klingt der Song in BiaB gut.
Da Real Band nicht jeder Spur ein eigenes Vst-Instrument zuweisen kann, habe ich alles nach Cubase exportiert und dann weiter bearbeitet. Ich hoffe, dass Real Band eines Tages keine Beschränkungen für VST/DXI-Instrumente mehr hat.
Nun noch zwei Fragen zu den RealTracks und RealBand:
1.) Kann man die Melodie auch von RelTrack-Instrumenten spielen lassen?
Ich glaube das geht nicht. Schade.
2.) Kann man die Timeline stauchen oder spreizen?
Ich möchte den ganzen Song auf dem Bildschirm sehen.

Hallo Helmut,
die Limitierung bezüglich Plugins war mir gar nicht bekannt. Ich dachte, dass nur pro Track die Zahl der Plugin-Effekte (
Reverb, Echo, usw.) auf 4 limitiert ist. Kann man wirklich nur einer bestimmten Anzahl an Tracks ein VST-Instrument zuweisen? Wenn ja, wie vielen? Eigentlich müsste die Limitierung doch nur durch die CPU-Last erfolgen.
Da ich keine VST-Instrumente verwende, kenn ich mich hier aber nicht so aus.
Zu Deinen Fragen:
1. Du kannst per Rechtsklick auf Melodie und "Assign Realtrack" auch die Melodie per RealTrack wiedergeben. Allerdings interpretieren die "Realtrack-Spieler" dann die Melodie entsprechend der gewählten Soloisten-Styles sehr frei. Von der ursprünglichen Melodie bleibt dann nicht viel übrig, ist mehr ne Art 2. Solospur. Ggf. könnte man aber ein eigenes Solopatch für einen der Realtrack-Soloisten erstellen, wo man die Parameter näher an der Melodie hält, Outside-Spielen und andere Extravaganzen unterbindet. Hab ich aber noch nicht ausprobiert, ist wegen der Fülle der Parameter und Menüs doch sehr aufwändig. Vielleicht hat ja einer hier im Forum damit Erfahrung.
2. Oben links, über der Instrumentenspalte (im Tracks-Window), unterhalb der Piano-Leiste sind ein Plus- und ein Minus-Zeichen. Mit Minus kannst Du rauszoomen. Bei mir ist aber bei 46 Takten Ende der Fahnenstange. Mehr wird nicht dargestellt. Kann sein, das bei einer anderen Bildschirmauflösung - ich habe "nur" 1280 x 1024 Pixel - mehr dargestellt wird. Viele haben ja jetzt Breitbildschirme mit bis zu 1600 Pixel in der Horizontalen.

Lieber Ralf,
vielen Dank für Deine ausführliche Antwort.
Das mit der Melodie muss ich noch ausprobieren.
Nun kommt schon wieder eine Frage.
Ich habe in BiaB einen Song erstellt. Intro, 5 16 taktige Strophen und Coda.
In Strophe 2 mit Anpassen ein Realtrack-Solo (Posaune) erstellt.
Dann in Strophe 3 mit Anpassen ein Realtrack-Solo (Trompete) erstellt.
Leider wurde dabei das Posaunensolo gelöscht, obwohl die Beschreibung sagt, wenn man das entsprechende Häkchen setzt soll das alte Solo erhalten bleiben.
In Real Band funktioniert das einwandfrei.

Hallo Helmut,
da scheint wohl das gleiche zu gelten, wie beim Instrumentenwechel: Bei Midi-Instrumenten klappt es, bei Einsatz von RealTracks nicht.
Hab es gerade noch mal ausprobiert, es scheint nur ein Realtrack-Solo auf der Solo-Spur möglich zu sein. Jeder neu generierte Part löscht den vorherigen, egal ob das Häkchen aktiviert ist oder nicht. Wie gesagt, bei Midi-Instrumenten kannst Du die Solisten und Instrumente wechseln, wie Du willst.
Hier sollte durch PGMusic beim nächsten Update unbedingt nachgebessert und die RealTracks besser integriert werden! Die Wechseloption sollte für RealTrack-Soli auch gelten.

Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums!
