Im getting really frustrated with this problem and Ive tried to find out why its happening but to no avail eg.
Ist line of 4 bars of my song is in the key of G and the guitar rhythm is perfect. Now if on the next line of 4 bars I enter new chords eg c and then play it back the rhythm guitar completely changes on the first line of G.Why this happens just by introducing other chords is making my head spin.I would appreciate it if anyone can give an answer to this problem. Thanks Frankie

What do you mean by "the rhythm guitar completely changes on the first line " ?

Is it playing a G chord, but just playing it differently now? (Different voicing etc)

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Some one may have an exact answere, but... Before I want to weigh in providing some musical philosophy about how to play rhythms over the changes (which likely would provide little satisfaction to your frustration) - for me it would be best to first know if we are talking:

Midi or RT's?

If RTs, which ones

What exact Style are using?

Can you simply copy and past the "Memo - Song Summary" which provides all this info to us about the song you are working on? With this I could simulate the song here to see/hear the issue.

thanks for posting up.They are all RT's jazz. The style for the song is Trainf ctry train w/fiddle.the rythym guitar that changes is 411 electric rhythm train pickin ev 130

Rharv. The first 4 bars starts off with the G chord when I then enter in the next 4 bars the chord of C and listen to it back the rhthym of the guitar now plays differently in the first 4 bars after inputing the extra chord. When I delete the C chord it reverts back to the rhythm that I like.It doesnt play a different chord but the rhythm style changes Frankie

Ok Ive taken another try at this and now the only time the rhythm guitar changes (voice I believe you call it Rharv)is when I enter chords over 12 bars.Previously it changed when I entered chords over 8 bars.Im emphasing here that it changes over the first 4 bars in G.Frankie

In my opinion, this is all exactly as designed. RT's are made to adjust according to the chords. In addition, they can and will change every time you regenerate (that is hit the Run buttom). What you are discovering is the reason we all love Freeze and more importantly RB.

Are you having fun

Exactly.

Or hit "Replay" instead of "Play."

Do you use RB ? Much if not all of this can be worked out over there.

One more thought,

when you say you have 4 or 8 bars of G, do you type G in the first bar and then leave the others blank until a change or do you enter G, G, G, G, \ G, G, G, G \. The latter method of entry may (i'm not sure?) force the RT to sit more on a single chord (with a singe pharse) then to take liberties with variations over what is a longer sequence.

Hi Jazz,Single G chord for the 1st 4 bars. When you say it can be sorted on RB how exactly. What I normally do is use BIAB to input the style, chords instruments and solo if needed then edit the track over on RB.How could I keep the guitar rhythm the same throughout the song if its already organised on BIAB.Cheers Frankie

Here is my workflow: BIAB - RB - Reaper.

BAIB - lay out the chord progession, select key, tempo and syle. Set number of chorus's , then...

RB - Insert the soloist, who plays what and when they play. If any track is not playing what I want, I simple regenerate that track or a specific selected set of bars within the track until I hear what I want ( or at least the best that is available). If I want a specific lick or rhythm to repeat I cut and paste. then

Reaper - here I lay down my recorded tracks (vocals and guitar), mix and master.

If you are not using RB to regenerate individual tracks or specific bars within a track then perhaps you were not aware it could do this.

Dan,
I do like you except the Reaper part cause I do tracks for live and leave out the vocals & bass. Just curious as to why you don't use RB instead of Reaper.
Effects that are proprietary?

sorry Jazz cant buy you thar condo yet.did what you said worked the 1st time now its doing the same thing again.I even froze the track but no joy.Its so frustrating that a guitar rhythm I want to play exactly the same throughout the track alters when another chord is inputed just doesnt make sense to me.I will look at this other post of yours and see if it works for me Thanks Frankie

Silver, I think I have seen that you use RB for your live performances. I have never moved away for BIAB for live perfomances. I have thought about it many times and may some day, but for now I just seem to have gotten very comfortable with BIAB doing what I need during a live gig. I think it has to do with the idea of the "simpler the better" which works for me.

Now for recording purposes I do need to get into a proper DAW. I can't get into all the differences between RB and Reaper. To me, two different animals each with it own purpose in my workflow. I love them both and would not get rid of either.
