I'm not sure what you are trying to do in total, but let's take a guess. On any one instrument, you may have either MIDI or RealTracks (or a RealDrum track). So, assuming you have version 2010 or 2010.5, you should be able to use F5 as suggested to mute or unmute each track at any bar. This should allow you to play MIDI then Real Tracks. The trick is, you have a limited number of total tracks to work with: piano, bass, drums, guitar, strings, melody and soloist. If you need more, you might like to experiment with the supplied companion program, RealBand.
