Hi
Is there anyone here ever bought the USB Hard Drive upgrade from the UK, just wondering if you have been stung by Customs for any import duty, or anything else they may choose to invent.
I would prefer to buy the USB 2011 upgrade as this would be better value for me having missed the 2010.5 paks.

I think they should put "Educational" material on as a sticker. I used to buy software from the US. The customs declaration put the value as the value of the diskettes and labeled it educational material. Before that I was paying $2000 plus 30% for it. In the end, the sent me the invoice, declared the value of the 'shipped' version as the cost of the diskettes, and it came through without charge. You almost need to talk to an importer, they know the loopholes.
I did hear it depended on where in the UK it went, and how the local office viewed the thing. As you get a download link it would seem almost fair that the unit is not the actual cost, but a small portion thereof..

Thanks John, but when ordering it says there is no download link available for the USB Hard Drive option, would be nice if there was though.

Things are probably really busy over there right now.
Maybe it'll take a bit to get it. Can't speak for PGMusic, but - If I was a bettin' man I'd bet there will be one soon.
I pity their server right now.

Yeah I was stung.
Last year with a major upgrade and so many options and realtracks and no download I opted for the USB drive. I'm in the UK and was presented with a sum to pay regards duty/tax before they would hand over the parcel. I never really thought about before hand and was not expecting it. PG do now make a point of mentioning duty to be paid but last year it was not really that clear, well not to me anyway. It was a must have uprade regardless of the cost at the time.
However working out the prices including duty and especially such a quick delivery at Christmas time it still seemed so much cheaper with the special offers from PG so I have no complaints on the whole. Biab is still great value for money.
This last years upgrades and realtracks have all been available for download so no problem.
