OP John Conley Veteran Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 8,333 London, Ontario, Canada	I was going to give away this mixer....but I dragged it out when even with hearing aids I had to run the TV at 85 db to hear the dang thing. So now, Bheringer to the rescue. I got the treble jacked up, the only thing, as Ian Fraser told me when I was complaining, that if the average person had to listen all day to stuff at 85+ db they'd be tired too....so true. You never know, you could just lose your hearing, the chemo got mine in June.. And a few photos of snowmageddon, or whatever they are calling it..About 120 cm of snow since it started, and the wife is home from work for the 2nd day, they had to shut most of the city down. Now we have a snowstorm coming for the weekend..another 30 cm. And maybe 30 more today. And tonight.. I had to use my cane to knock down the snow hanging off the house. Maybe I'll call my boys to shovel off the roof.... Up in Banff, yes but not in town. As a SoCal boy, I like looking at stuff like this but I can't stand living in it. A lot of people in Calgary will move to Vancouver and if someone mentions how much in rains there, the retort always was "Yeah, but you don't shovel rain". These pics make me want to get back my $700 parka I bought at Eatons from the friend I sold it to when I moved back to California. I'm looking for the parka the other day and the wife says, "I threw it out.....". The band jacket I'm not supposed to wear unless on parade so I guess I'm stuck in the house until spring. I can't walk very well, though the doc says the symptoms should ease, so I'm hopeful. Grin and bear it. But don't bare it. We have a short respite from the snow but there is 40 inches at least...and another foot for sure on the weekend. John Conley Musica est vita

I lived where it was that cold for 3 months at least, and we had to shovel off the roof, UP! Every Canuck knows how: 1. To walk Backwards. 2. With the hands over the ears despite the hat. 3. At a run with the wind on your back. 4. With your skates banging your chest. And it never mattered that the rink was outside, the wind was not a factor when you were playing hockey. And, when you took off the skates and got inside those feet hurt when they thaw out. As a kid there was a shack with a pot bellied stove and you went in there every 30 minutes to warm up while some guys shoveled off the rink, and some dude flooded it with a machine like a huge powered lawnmower that you walked behind. The problem with out current snowstorm, is it's going to be tomorrow before it lets up, and there is more coming on the weekend. I like it because my wife is stuck at home with me, otherwise I'm alone. John Conley Musica est vita

I'm just amazed at the difference in snow such a short distance can make. Funny thing is, friends in Ohio are complaining about the snow too. So I guess being 'in the middle' of a snowstorm ain't so bad after all. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

I was out doing estimates today, had to take off a house in La Jolla up on the hillside had a cool wind blowing off the ocean, must have been around 60 deg. With loss as profound as yours seems to be, could have taken ear impressions and had some custom , non-vented molds made for your hearing aids. My company makes those. They are pennies on the dollar compared to the cost of the hearing aid instrument itself. With a sealed-off ear canal, they can dial up the gain even more on the hearing aid before feedback occurs. I don't miss the snow of MI here in CO. It pretty much stays 10-30 miles west of here in the mountains. My driveway has a southern exposure. It's the proximity of the driver's window, and it's an issue with horns and the door locks. And sneezing and coughing of others. I have 90 days, or about another 6 weeks to get full refund and something else. The fact that my 'graph' is normal until 1/2 way across and then goes down on a 45 degree angle at 4900 hz means the bass needs not much boosting. I am also still having 'changes'. The same drug that got my hearing is still messing with my mobility (peripheral neuropathy) and it's supposed to have stopped months ago, alas..it still is worsening. But in the past month I've only lost one more note on the upper end of the piano. It's the women I can't hear, and a couple of male friends with high voices. My wife has to be about 2 feet in front of me, and talk at a nice even level. Gone are the days of talking 'at' me while I sit in a chair. I don't need to worry about total silence. I've got a constant series of interesting compensatory noises going on to fill my day with oceans and random clicking and other great sounds including crickets that can drive me bonkers. The tv has a Sony 5.1 sound system and the wife messed it up last week. Didn't work. All of a sudden it came on REALLY loud. That feedback was painful and I ended up ripping them out and staring at her. I think there should be a limit programmed in, I'm going to ask. To be honest, I view the hearing as my number 3 problem. Or 4. They are talking about stretching my throat open. And my feet and hands have a bad case of heavy metal poisoning. (Cisplatin). Of course the paranoia is tough too. I went outside and took some pics yesterday, then grabbed the shovel and cleared a small path to the street so I could walk in the knee deep snow. Now my back hurts but at first I'm going, damn it's gone to my kidneys. Paranoia. Just sore muscles, most work I've done in 8 months. At least my mop of thick curly hair grew back...NOT. Look like a mangy dog. But bald on the front. Ah, well. Still have the pleasure of being miserable and cantankerous for a short while more! John Conley Musica est vita

Are your dome tips vented or unvented? Unvented would mean that the tip seals off your ear canal. In Canada an audiologist checks your hearing and prescribes a certain type of hearing aid, and a dispenser fills the 'order'. Cost wa$50 bucks for initial hearing test, got that back from insurance. $2700 for hearing aids, $1000 gov't subsidy (every 3 years), and $1700 paid by my insurance. (Until I turn 65 then I'm SOL LOL). You then return for a 'checkup'. My word comprehension went from 72% without hearing aids to 94% with them. I just need the left one turned down. I have 4 programs in them and a keychain gizmo, and a bluetooth gizmo. I hate having them on in the car (fan noise) or in the grocery store (crashing carts). AS far as my TV is concerned I have a 10 month old 50 inch Toshiba flat panel, and too many high def channels to watch. A sony surround sound system but I'm going to the mixer before that. The plane is booked I'm dickering with hotel things, but the 'Royal Wedding' on Tues. means John should get out of town that day I think... We will probably take the train to Glasgow and hire a car and head to the ancestral 'hame'. My G G Grandfather was a distiller in Islay, and came to Canada where he named the village Islay, still there but the Amish have moved in with horses like the old days. We return to Canada Mid May out of Paris. I can walk very well, but I can hope, the docs think I'll recover some more...maybe. I found out there are no guarantees, I've been planning to do this trip and others all my life but was waiting until I had the 'time'. I'm taking a bit of a gamble, I can't get health insurance...but heck who cares.... I had a less than 30% shot at Christmas, and it's only 2 weeks hence.. John Conley Musica est vita

What are XPro Styles and Xtra Styles PAKs?

XPro Styles PAKs are styles that work with any version (Pro, MegaPAK, UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, or Audiophile Edition) of Band-in-a-Box® 2025 (or higher). XPro Styles PAKS 1-10 includes 1,000 styles!

Xtra Styles PAKs are styles that work with the UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, or Audiophile Edition of Band-in-a-Box® 2025 (or higher). Xtra Styles PAKs 1-21 includes 3,700 styles (and 35 MIDI styles)!

The XPro & Xtra Styles PAKs are not included in any Band-in-a-Box® package.

The Xtra Styles require the UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, or Audiophile Edition of Band-in-a-Box®. (Xtra Styles PAK 19 requires the 2025 or higher UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, or Audiophile Edition. They will not work with the Pro or MegaPAK version as they require the RealTracks included in the UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, or Audiophile Edition.

Band-in-a-Box® 2026 for Mac is here and it is packed with major new features! There’s a new modern look, a GUI redesign to all areas of the program including toolbars, windows, workflow and more. There’s a Multi-view layout for organizing multiple windows.
