Hopefully you have a copy of your original songs...
While I don't have the answer, I have 'lost' frozen RTs after doing things such as changing drum kits or styles. A suggestion if you still have the originals, try doing your steps one at a time and see where the problem occurs. Sounds to me that there is a feature (bug) and support needs to know under what circumstances this occurs.
I've tried duplicating the problem in 2011 and have not been able to. Maybe it was addressed in the update.
