Over the years, I have come to trust very few portable USB drives, even names like Hitachi and Maxtor. For my money, the important stuff only goes on a Seagate.

Trying to Windows copy (or even Dos XCOPY /S ) for such a large number of files seems to inevitably end up with a CRC error SOMEWHERE and thus an aborted backup.

I suppose you COULD use Windows Backup/Restore, but since everyone with more than a couod of disks should probably have a Partition Manager anyway, this Free Home Version did a partition copy in just a few minutes that tested fine.

For the record, I did use the Windows utilities to scan both disks for errors (with the "correct bad sectors") option before proceeding to do a "partition copy."

I feel better now having my UltraPlus PAK on a righteous spindle. Fujitsus are nice shipping media, but with drives as cheap as they are now, I have 2011 (and my 5K+tunes) all on one quality drive.
