Why is it that in Realband the demo songs sound different than in BIAB ?
To demonstrate what I mean: In BIAB I choose the demo for the style _JEGTBAL "_JEGTBAL Demo - (ALL REALTRACKS-AcBass,ElGuit,Ballad60.SGU)"
When I hit the Play-Button a smooth pattern is generated and played. The basic motiv of the pattern will not change, even if the song gets regenerated pressing the Play-Button in BIAB again.
When I pick now the same Demo song in Realband (Realtracks are generated) the song sound very different than in BIAB even though the chord progression is the same. I can regenerate the realtracks many times, still I can not get the same rythmic pattern as in BIAB.
Can anybody tell me, why is that? Is there any trick to have Realdband play the demo song in the same way as in BIAB ?

I can't speak to radically different rhythm patterns etc generated, but as far as overall sound, in older versions of RB the various volume, pan, effects, etc settings did not carry over when importing a song from BIAB. I believe that this has been corrected in the 2011 version with a choice to carry these over in the process.

I noticed that too... I set up this nice groove using RealTracks in BB....imported it into RealBand and got something much different. This is in 2010.5. I like the products very much but it always seem what you really need is in the NEXT upgrade.

Band in a box has certain enhancements to the sound due to panning, effect and such that are not added in Rb this is that you can do the mixing and mastering in RB. RB is a Trus DAW software and you can add more tracks, cut and paste stuff and do extensive recording, BiaB is an auto accompaniment program designed to build a completed song in seconds, but it lacks the abilityu to completely rework that to the extent RB allows. So the result of RB is a tad bland out of the gate. But if you go in and take it track by track, you can add all those enhancements and make it sound great
Part of the track sounding different is due to the above issues, but once you do the effect, and polishing they begin to sound very much the same.

No longer true. All the settings are the same whether it's in BIAB or RB.

Are you sure of this?? When I play the same RTs in RB they sound dry and have no FXs assgined, however, when I right click on the track and set a "Track Category" (piano, guitar drum kit etc., with the picture of the instrument now shown) to the track a host of FX is automatically assigned. Then the track sounds like BIAB.
Now this is not the result of D&D RTs from BIAB but rather starting fresh in RB.

Did you 'freeze' your tracks before saving in BB, then opening in RB? Just an idea
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

Yes. The RTs are the same however there is a check box in BIAB under the prefs/rts to add reverb to the RTs. This is the only difference. The verb in BIAB is nice sounding but very basic as opposed to RB's ability to add effects. In BIAB there is also a REVERB button in Prefs. So what I'm saying is that the VERB in BIAB is proprietary to BIAB and couldn't be loaded as it's not a DX effect.

Why is it that in Realband the demo songs sound different than in BIAB ?
It's confusing I know but just remember Real Band is NOT the same as Biab. Just because RB can work with certain Biab functions, doesn't mean they handle files in the same manner. RB is a full fledged DAW, Biab isn't. They use a completely different file structure and you'll notice RB can't save a song as a Biab file even though it can open them. RB uses SEQ files that Biab can't open. RB is capable of doing much more in the way of adding effects and such which means you don't want to restrict RB to the very basic Biab DAW functions. They're related but think of it like you may be related to your 1st cousin in Estonia or whatever but you still don't share lots of things.
